Chenango Arts Council:
27 W Main Street
Norwich, NY 13815
Open: Mon - Fri 9 - 5, Gallery 9:30 – 4
The Chenango Arts Council offers grant opportunities to artists, non-profit organizations, and teachers for cultural activities that support and enrich the artistic quality of life in our communities and schools. This is accomplished through the re-granting of state funds to support projects that creatively reflect the unique qualities, resources, and needs of the communities we serve.

During the 2017-2018 season, we will be presenting 7 mainstage performances, twelve demonstrations and exhibits in the galleries, more than a dozen workshops in the classroom, not to mention bus trips to Cooperstown and New York, field trips to Wolf Mountain and Kopernik Science Center, collaborations with Colgate University, Morrisville College and Rogers Environmental Center, and arts education events in and with Chenango County elementary, middle and high schools. A full-size movie screen in the theater has created new opportunities for us to participate in Colorscape, Pumpkin Fest and Movies in the Park. We are working closely with the Norwich Merchants Association, BID, Guernsey Memorial Public Library and may local businesses on a wide variety of projects, including a fun new Public Arts project scheduled for next summer. This marks more offerings at the Arts Council than ever before.

Once the auditorium of Norwich High School, this early 20th century space entered the 21st century with a new lease on life as a fully restored theater in Chenango County, suitable for a wide range of uses. Recently added full-size movie screen and up-to-date sound system in the the theater, partnered with the newly upgraded conference room (which also now offers projection and WI-FI) makes the Arts Council the perfect venue for your next convention, business seminar, meeting or conference.
